The Role
We are seeking an energetic and
engaging Lab Manager to lead one of the first teams of quality
technicians for our Cathode Quality Control Lab. You will exercise your
exceptional people skills to delegate tasks and guide personnel in developing
one of Tesla's newest manufacturing teams. Your proven record of driving
improvements and agility in responding to quality excursions will enable you to
set the tone for the rest of the team. In addition, your strong collaborative
skills allow you to bring cross functional teams together to efficiently solve
complex problems. Your presence will bring structure to the team and bring the
best performance out of each of your employees.
Responsibilities
· Delegate
responsibilities and manage schedules for a team of quality technicians.
· Provide
coaching and training to technicians.
· Escalate
quality issues with management and engineering as needed.
· Drive
improvements in quality operations.
· Assist
quality technicians and inspectors on in-line decision making.
· Provide
regular reports & updates to quality team and management.
· Assist
in management of material disposition.
· Enforce
5S and workplace hygiene standards.
Requirements
· B.S.
in engineering or science or equivalent in experience.
· 3
- 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control environment.
·
3+ years of leadership experience with a team of 10 or more employees.
· Knowledgeable
in quality related specifications.
· Knowledge of ISO 9001:2000 or TS16924 a
plus
. Proficiency
in concepts such as SPC, process capability, PFMEA, Control Plan.
· Proficiency in concepts such as six-sigma,
TQM, or equivalent a plus.
· Easily
demonstrate ability to drive issues to root cause solutions in previous
experience.
· Versed on Microsoft office Flexible with
work schedule.
· Able
to wear PPE including a PAPR respirator and coveralls as needed.
