Tesla Motors is looking for an experienced supervisor to oversee recycling
operations at our Fremont factory. The scope includes oversight of various
recycling processing and sort areas and a staff of recycling associates and
leads. The successful candidate will be highly organized and possess strong personnel
management skills, along with a high level of integrity.
Responsibilities:
Manage recycling operations with a high
focus on safety, service quality, sustainability goals, operational efficiency,
and continuous improvement.
Develop operating procedures for the
efficient operation of all recycle processing and sort areas.
Document safety incidents and develop
corrective actions.
Manage equipment inventory including
equipment repairs.
Develop recommendations for operating
improvements, process changes, new equipment, and cost savings initiatives.
Disseminate authoritative oral and/or
written information to associates and team members requiring a thorough
knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures.
Provide periodic reports on
operation/performance of recycling program including KPI’s.
Supervise, train, recommend for hire,
evaluate, and schedule work of assigned staff.
Represent department and serve on
committees as required.
Review and adjust work schedules as required
Coordinate activities with other departments.
Communicate/escalate significant issues to Manager.
Perform staff performance evaluations.
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and
standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations
including published work rules.
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
Monitor recycle areas to confirm if
work meets Tesla’s standards. Report on the status and condition of these
areas.
Responsible for developing Associates
in proper recycling techniques and procedures.
Provide training on lineside sorting and
sustainability goals to Tesla production teams.
Perform special project assignments
as required.
Requirements:
2-3 years recycling experience preferred; Powered Industrial
Vehicle experience preferred.
At least one year of supervisory experience
Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred
Proficient with Microsoft email, Word,
Excel, Power Point
Clean background check
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing less
than or equal to 50 pounds
Possess
ability to effectively interact and communicate under difficult situations
Possess the
abilities to work independently with minimal supervision
He/she should
possess high degree of dedication to a high level of customer satisfaction
Possess
ability to use email, the Internet, and basic computer applications
Minimum Education Requirements / Certification
High School
diploma required. Two-year college degree preferred.
