Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Navigates to Safety in a Medical Emergency
June 16, 2026On November 15, 2025, a Model Y driver traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to Birmingham, Alabama experienced a medical emergency while on the road. He began having severe chest pain. The driver called to notify his son, the vehicle's other authorized user, that there was an emergency.
The son was able to remotely reroute the vehicle, which had Full Self-Driving (Supervised) enabled, to the nearest hospital and alert the hospital staff that the vehicle was en route. On arrival, ER staff were ready to help, and physicians later confirmed that being able to remotely reroute the vehicle to the hospital likely helped save the man’s life.
