The Tesla Craftsmanship and Dimensional teams are responsible for developing dimensional and other sensory targets, establishing tolerance strategies to meet requirements and supporting Quality to ensure delivery of the targets.
We are seeking a passionate team member to represent the Craftsmanship/Dimensional team and lead the initiatives at the Tesla Berlin Factory.
The candidate will identify and help to root cause the major Craftsmanship/Dimensional Issues in the factory.
Requirements:
1D and 3D dimensional variation analysis.
Fluent in English, with strong spoken, reading and writing communication skills
Degree qualified or similar qualification in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design disciplin as well as experience within the automotive industry
Good level of numeracy, literacy and logical reasoning skills.
Five years of automotive or complex product design knowledge experience.
Catia or similar CAD system experience.
An understanding of how subjective data can be measured or quantified to develop robust, representative targets.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
An inherent attention to detail and an understanding of the factors that create a perception of exceptional quality in the mind of the consumer.
Familiarity GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009.
Design for Six sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
Gauge and checking Fixture design or validation experience.
Knowledge in a variety of production and prototype manufacturing methods.
Main Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Craftsmanship/Dimensional team leads, your main responsibilities will include:
Identify and prioritize Dimensional and Craftsmanship issues requiring resolution.
Drive resolution of Dimensional and Craftsmanship issues through quantitative data analysis, negotiation and influence.
Track status and report progress for critical issues, at management level.
Support the development of measurement requirements to ensure product build meets design criteria.
Support local suppliers to ensure dimensional requirements are understood and appropriate fixture designs are in place.
Liaising between local manufacturing team and US counterparts.
