The Vehicle
system engineering team is responsible for quality delivery of the entire
vehicle together with crossfunctional GFB shop teams, establishing tolerance and
production strategies to meet requirements to deliver vehicle quality
excellence.
We are seeking a
passionate team member to represent the system engineering team and to lead the
initiatives at the Tesla Berlin Factory.
The candidate
will identify and help to set up entire vehicle production process.
In addition this
role will support all crossfunctional related quality root cause analysis and
define necessary corrective actions.
Responsibilities:
- Product
Lifecycle Management (PLM): Quickly learn Tesla’s PLM system and
consistently help resolve Build of Material (BOM) and Change Approvals
(CA) issues by interfacing with design engineers and manufacturing
personnel
- Develop
required quality process & measurement strategy with all affected
parties to control all critical vehicle interfaces
- Ownership
for delivery of x-functional vehicle quality targets & system
functionality
- Analyze
and report on results of pre-production builds (complete, analyzed, and
well communicated)
- Problem
solving: You identify risks and define mitigating measures. In case of
deviations and problems you systematically apply problem solving methods
and make sure that solutions are implemented
- Environment,
health, and safety taken into account in all activities and manufacturing
validations
- Author
weekly/as needed program status, summary, and issue resolution tracking
reports
Requirements:
- Production
Operations Knowledge - Has a basic understanding of complex production
lines operations and production methods of entire vehicle systems
- Fundamental
understanding of manufacturability, process design, process validation,
and assembly methods. Profound understanding of process technology and 2-4
years’ experience with high technology production processes (e.g.
stamping, BIW and General Assembly), preferably in automotive industry
- Ability
to learn and understand the basic variety of manufacturing models and
strategies is instrumental in guiding the development of new manufacturing
lines/processes/products
- Design for Six sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
- Gauge and checking Fixture design or validation
experience.
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T
drawings or CAD models as well as familiarity
with 3D
dimensional variation analysis
- Interpersonal
skills dealing with all levels of an organization, especially skilled at
working with direct labor force to understand challenges, and work on
developing optimal solutions using structured methods
- Maintain flexibility and adaptability to changing
priorities and assignments, coping with rapidly changing information.
- Strong
written and verbal communication skills. Well versed with common workplace
software (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc)
- Good level of
numeracy, literacy and logical reasoning skills.
- Professional
communication and interaction with supply base
- Must be
able to collaborate cohesively with co-workers, while demonstrating
initiative and capability to work independently
- Team
player; ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment with
cross-functional teams
- Previous
experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) desired
- Previous
experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc) is beneficial
- Has a general understanding of
production line layout, flow and modeling.
- Minimum
of one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in automotive, high tech, or
other high volume/high complexity manufacturing in a similar capacity
coupled with demonstration of exceptionable ability
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related
technical field (Master’s degree in supporting field is highly preferred)
- Strong
