Role
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and solution-oriented Global Trade Staff Analyst to manage Trade compliance for Gigafactory Berlin. This critical position will report directly to Tesla’s EMEA Manager of Global Trade and New Markets.
Responsibilities
Main contact person for German Customs and Export Control Authorities
Continuous management of a compliant Customs and Export Control organization, including trainings, written guidelines, monitoring and reporting
Manage export of primarily vehicles and supply chain/flow of goods of both direct and indirect materials for Gigafactory Berlin
Manage customs brokers in Germany through periodic meetings, SOPs, Billing process and escalation handling
Oversee legal changes and initiate change management
Provide guidance to internal stakeholders to identify supply chain design strategies that may be utilized to minimize duty spend and/or assist in landed cost analyses
Support Tesla's AEO status and drive roll-out to other Tesla entities
Support Tesla’s international expansion
Coordinate and align with cross-functional teams around the globe including: Sales, Service, Delivery, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Legal, Finance/Accounting/Treasury, Real Estate, Tax, Homologation, Logistics and IT
Communicate with various government authorities to respond to inquiries/audits or to apply for import and export authorizations
Requirements
5+ years of Customs/Trade Consulting/In-house Trade management experience
Good understanding of Automotive / High Tech industry
AEO experience
Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
Export Control experience
Customs procedures with economic impact experience
Self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities with minimal direction
Fluent in English and German
