Connectivity

Connectivity is an important part of all Tesla cars, further enhancing the driving experience by providing access to features that require data usage — including streaming music and media, live traffic visualization and more.

All cars come with Standard Connectivity which provides access to most connectivity features over Wi-Fi only, in addition to basic maps and navigation and music streaming over Bluetooth®.

Premium Connectivity provides the ability to access all connectivity features over cellular, in addition to Wi-Fi, for the most intuitive and engaging ownership experience. Premium Connectivity will be available as a monthly subscription. Orders of Model S, Model X and Model 3 will receive a Premium Connectivity trial at delivery.

All owners will be able to subscribe to Premium Connectivity from the Tesla Account.

Connectivity Packages

* Accessible over Wi-Fi for Standard Connectivity

*⁺ A paid subscription to streaming services is required to access music and media streaming

For Model S and Model X with second row display, this includes second row in-drive video streaming. Some features such as Caraoke and video streaming are not supported on some cars based on hardware configuration. Review your vehicle firmware release notes to confirm feature availability in your Tesla.

What’s the difference between Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity?
Cellular connectivity is a wireless data connection and only requires that you’re within range of a cell phone tower — similar to how a smart phone works.

Wi-Fi connectivity requires proximity to a router — similar to how a laptop connects to your Wi-Fi at home.

Is Tesla providing the network for connectivity?
No. Your connectivity network is provided by your local telecommunications company and Tesla is not responsible for the connectivity quality or coverage.
