Powerwall Site Survey
Before you schedule your installation, a Site Survey will need to take place. We will try to do this remotely through questions and photos. If necessary, a physical site survey is carried out where conversation and photos do not provide enough information, or the property is unique.
Based on your Site Survey, the Tesla design team will assess your home's electrical system and include any electrical upgrades needed in your proposal. At this time, they will also outline any potential benefits of installing more than one Powerwall depending on your energy usage and property size. Before moving forward, you will review and approve the design.
Pre-Installation: Prepare Your Home
To ensure quick and efficient installation, clear the ground, wall space and any key access points for installers to work. Some installers may use a small dolly to move Powerwall around. Clearances required for installation of Powerwall and the Backup Gateway are shown below. Note that bottom clearance of Powerwall can be no more than a maximum of 1500mm.
We encourage new owners to download the Tesla app where you can monitor your Powerwall and home energy use.
Pre-Installation: Internet Access
Powerwall requires an active Internet connection (wired or wireless), which allows you to monitor your Powerwall system with the Tesla app. Identify where your home WiFi router is located and have your password ready.
Once you've prepared your home, see what to expect on your installation day of your Powerwall.
