How do I install home charging equipment?
There are three steps to installing home charging equipment:
Step one: Request a quote for installation.
Tesla works with local independent electricians who can install your home charging equipment. Learn more about the electricians providing services in your market. You can tell your Owner Adviser or Delivery Specialist about which electrician you would like to get the quote from, or simply let them decide for you.
Step two: Approve the quote.
The quote should include detail on the following items:
- Circuit breaker/power level
- Distance of cable run
- Any additional electrical system upgrades, if necessary
- Permit and inspection, where applicable
Step three: Schedule installation.
We recommend scheduling installation as soon as possible, as delivery dates can vary.

How do I install charging in a multi-unit dwelling?
Multi-unit dwellings consist of apartments, condominiums and any residence with shared common space, such as parking or electrical infrastructure. Your apartment or condominium may have a board, manager or owner who should be informed of your planned charging installation.
