Start your order and design your Tesla vehicle.

The Tesla financing calculator is available in the Design Studio to help you determine the right payment option. These estimated calculations are not guaranteed and are subject to credit approval. For authoritative information regarding your financing options, contact your preferred financier.

Preferred Financier

UDC Finance and Heartland Bank provide Tesla customers with transparent and commission-free finance across both consumer and commercial applications.

After placing an order, download and sign in to the Tesla app using your Tesla Account credentials to get started on your pre-delivery tasks.

To select a preferred financier as your payment method, follow these steps:

Open the Tesla app.
Confirm your delivery, registration and trade-in details.
In the ‘Financing’ section of your pre-delivery tasks, tap ‘Yes’ to view financing options.
Select ‘Loan.’
Select your lender from the dropdown.
Tap ‘Continue’ to proceed to the lender information page and application.

Once you submit your loan application, your lender will work with you to collect the required information and notify you if your application is approved. If your application is approved, we will send you and your lender a final invoice.

Self-Arranged Financing

If you decide not to use one of our preferred financiers, you can organise financing with a lender of your choice.

To select self-arranged financing as your payment method, follow these steps:

Open the Tesla app.
Confirm your delivery, registration and trade-in details.
Navigate to the ‘Financing’ section of your pre-delivery tasks.
Tap ‘Yes’ to view financing options.
Select ‘Loan.’
From the dropdown, select ‘Other.’
Provide the funding institution’s name and the exact dollar amount of your loan.

Once you receive a VIN, you will receive a copy of your final invoice in the Tesla app. You will need to send a copy of your final invoice to your lender before they can finalise your funding.

Note: Ensure your lender has finalised your funding at least 48 hours prior to delivery to ensure a smooth delivery day.

After you have submitted your application through the Tesla app, your nominated lender will advise you of next steps and contact you if any further details are required.

To progress your application efficiently, we recommend you review your existing liabilities (e.g. credit card, mortgage, etc.) and have relevant documents prepared. Depending on your preferred financier’s requirements, you may need to provide any of the following documentation:
- Confirmation you are over 18 and a New Zealand resident or have a valid working visa
- Current New Zealand full or restricted driver's licence
- Current employer details (and previous employer details if you've changed jobs in the last 3 years)
- Recent financial statements if you are self-employed or have a business
- Details of your income and expenses, such as your mortgage, other loans or credit cards
Yes. To apply third-party funding to your purchase, Tesla requires this information to be completed in your Tesla Account:
- The name and address of the funding institution
- The exact dollar amount of your loan
Once a VIN is assigned, a copy of your final invoice will be made available in your Tesla Account to share with your third-party funding institution.
Your Loan Agreement will be available for signature, sent to you from your nominated Tesla preferred lender at least 72 hours prior to your delivery appointment. Tesla requires your Loan Agreement executed at least 48 hours prior to your delivery appointment. Insurance must be provided to your nominated lender at this same time.

Note: For regional deliveries where a vehicle carrier is required, any additional customer deposits must be paid prior to scheduling a delivery appointment.
