First Responders Information
Tesla is committed to helping first responders safely handle Tesla products. In case of emergencies or fires, you may need to shut down the high-voltage system of the vehicle. Disconnecting and safely de-energizing the vehicle’s battery during extraction is necessary. Vehicle Accidents for Vehicle Owners
In the event of an accident, follow the instructions below.
- Park or turn off vehicle.
For Model S, Model 3, Model X or Model Y, place vehicle into ‘Park’ position. For Roadsters, turn off the vehicle and remove the key.
Note: Tesla vehicles are electric and make no noise even when the powertrain is energized. - Contact Tesla Roadside Assistance.
If it’s an emergency, contact local emergency services at 000.
Note: In the case of an accident, Tesla Roadside is able to assist you, but this is not a financially covered service. Contact Tesla Roadside for questions regarding the proper procedure for transporting your vehicle. You can also contact your insurance or a third-party provider for the transportation of your vehicle.
