The HomeLink Automatic Garage Opener can be installed as a retrofit for Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. HomeLink connects your Tesla vehicle to a maximum of three radio-frequency controlled devices (including garage doors, gates, lights and security systems).

To check your device's compatibility with HomeLink, follow these steps:

Visit the HomeLink website and select 'Programme Your Vehicle.'

Select your Tesla vehicle model and year from the dropdown menu.

Select the brand of your garage door opener from the dropdown menu.

Select 'Submit.'

To programme HomeLink in Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, follow these steps. Pairing instructions are also available in your Owner's Manual.

Note: Only devices with a rolling code remote need to go through the 'Learn' process. If you have an old device that is not equipped with a rolling code remote or it is 'Quick-Train' compatible, you can skip this part of the process.
Check the batteries in the remote.

Hold the remote against the front bumper approximately 6 inches left of the Tesla emblem and hold the button down. It may take as long as 3 minutes.

Check the compatibility of the remote by contacting the HomeLink manufacturer.
Make sure you are pressing the receiver's LEARN button. Most receivers have two buttons and an LED. For instructions on how to put the receiver into learning mode, refer to the owner documentation provided with the HomeLink device.

Most devices stay in learning mode for 3-5 minutes. Immediately after pressing the ‘Learn’ button, follow the instructions displayed on the touchscreen.

Park your vehicle with its front bumper as close as possible to the HomeLink device.

Make sure you haven’t reached the device receiver's limit of learned remotes/cars. Most receivers can learn up to five remotes/cars. If the receiver's memory is full, you must clear the memory and restart the programming process. For instructions on how to clear the receiver's memory, refer to the owner documentation provided with the HomeLink device.
