You can talk to Grok, your AI companion built by SpaceXAI, hands-free in your Tesla vehicle. Choose Grok's voice and personality, ranging from Storyteller to Unhinged, to enhance convenience while you’re on the go. You can also use Grok to issue vehicle commands including navigating your trip, making phone calls, searching and playing music, adjusting temperature, opening the glove box and more. Grok can also help answer questions about your Tesla.

No. Grok is available for Tesla vehicles with the following:
- An AMD processor
- Vehicle software version 2026.20 or later
- Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi connection
Grok may become available for additional Tesla vehicles with over-the-air software updates in the future. Grok availability is subject to change or end at any time.
Check your configuration from your vehicle’s touchscreen. Select 'Controls' > 'Software' > 'Additional Vehicle Information' to view your vehicle’s infotainment processor.
You can also ask Tesla Assist (Beta) from the Tesla app. To access Tesla Assist, follow these steps:
1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
3. Tap the icon in the top-right corner to ask a question.
Interactions with Grok are securely processed by SpaceXAI in line with their privacy notice. Conversations remain anonymous to Tesla and are not linked to you or your vehicle. When you ask Grok to call someone, Grok will access your phone contacts in the vehicle before placing the call; your contacts are not sent to SpaceXAI.
