Ordering a Tesla Vehicle

Once you decide which model is right for you, you can place your order online or visit a Tesla store. The ordering process only takes a few minutes.

Additionally, you can choose to order a test vehicle, which is a Tesla vehicle that has been used for demonstration purposes such as test drives or showroom staging.

Schedule a test drive appointment online to experience driving a Tesla vehicle. Walk-in availability is limited, so we encourage you to schedule in advance. See how you can prepare for your test drive appointment.

Design your Model 3 or Model Y. For more immediate delivery, explore the available inventory of Tesla vehicles in your area. When placing your order, you will pay a one-time, non-refundable order fee.

Note: The email address you enter when placing your order will be used to create your Tesla Account. If you already have a Tesla Account, make sure to use the same email for your new order to ensure that your vehicle is registered to the same account.

After your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with details about when you can expect your vehicle to be delivered. Delivery timing varies by model, location and current availability.

Depending on your location, you can choose to lease the vehicle, purchase with financing or purchase outright.

Prior to your delivery date, confirm your preferred payment method in your Tesla Account under 'Payment Method' or directly with your advisor and pay the amount due in your Tesla Account.

After placing your order, use the same email address and password you used to place your order and sign in to your Tesla Account. In your account, follow the prompts to provide your information, including trading in your used vehicle, registration and delivery details.

If you are trading in your vehicle, connect with your advisor to ensure you have all items prepared including your title, lien release or any other supplementary documents to transfer ownership to Tesla.

Review your plan for charging your vehicle at home.

You can check your estimated delivery timing in your Tesla Account or order confirmation email.

Once your vehicle is ready, an advisor will review your delivery options and available locations with you.

To prepare for delivery day and ensure you have a seamless experience, we recommend completing all pre-delivery tasks in advance, such as submitting your final payment and other necessary documents prior to your appointment.
