American Manufacturing Excellence
Our manufacturing presence in the United States continues to expand, creating thousands of jobs and strengthening domestic supply chains. Our Gigafactories in California, Texas, Nevada and New York represent significant investments in American manufacturing capability and technological leadership across EVs, energy storage, and solar.
Our domestic focus has allowed us to place in the top four positions in Cars.com's 2025 American-Made Index, with Model 3 claiming 1st place, followed by Model Y in 2nd, Model S in 3rd, and Model X in 4th.
This is the 4th year in the row that we secured 1st place on the American-Made Index, with Model Y claiming 1st place for the prior 2 consecutive years and Model 3 placing 1st in 2021.
Cars.com analyzes more than 400 model-year 2025 vehicles to arrive at the 99 vehicles that are included on the 2025 American-Made Index. The 99 ranked vehicles are judged through five factors:
- Location of final assembly
- Percentage of US and Canadian parts
- Country of origin for available engines
- Country of origin for available transmissions
- US manufacturing employees relative to the automaker's footprint
