Grok

You can talk to Grok, your AI companion built by xAI, hands-free in your Tesla vehicle. Choose Grok's voice and personality, ranging from Storyteller to Unhinged, to enhance convenience while you’re on the go. You can also use Grok to issue navigation commands, allowing you to search for and reach your destination without interacting with your vehicle’s touchscreen.

Note: Grok is currently in Beta.

No. Grok is available for Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck vehicles with the following:
- An AMD processor
- Vehicle software version 2025.26 or later
- Premium Connectivity or Wi-Fi connection
Grok may become available for additional Tesla vehicles with over-the-air software updates in the future. Grok availability is subject to change or end at any time.
Check your configuration from your vehicle’s touchscreen. Select 'Controls' > 'Software' > 'Additional Vehicle Information' to view your vehicle’s infotainment processor.

You can also ask Tesla Assist (Beta) from the Tesla app. To access Tesla Assist, follow these steps:
1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
3. Tap the icon in the top-right corner to ask a question.
Grok can now initiate navigation commands in your Tesla vehicle, whether you're setting a destination, adjusting routes on the go or discovering points of interest. Simply enable Grok from your vehicle’s steering wheel, set the personality to Assistant and make your request. To use Grok to initiate a navigation command, your vehicle must have software version 2025.44.25 or later.

Note: Grok is in Beta and does not include voice commands for vehicle controls such as media or climate. The existing voice command feature remains unchanged.
