Waitlist for Supercharging

Waitlist is a virtual queuing system for Tesla Supercharger sites. When a site reaches capacity, Waitlist holds your place in line and notifies you when a Supercharger becomes available.

Waitlist is currently available at the following Supercharging sites:

No. Waitlist free to all drivers at Supercharger sites where Waitlist is enabled.

Waitlist currently operates on an honor system. There is no enforcement of the queue, but using Waitlist ensures fairness and reduces tension for all drivers.

No. Waitlist does not assign you a specific stall. When it’s your turn, you can select any available Supercharger.

No. The order of the queue is based on when each driver joined the waitlist, not your physical position. Drivers ahead of you in the queue may have joined before you or may be parked elsewhere. You can see your position in the queue using the Tesla app or on your vehicle’s touchscreen.

When multiple stalls become available, multiple drivers will receive notifications for their turn at the same time. You can see the available stalls on the 3D site map on your vehicle’s touchscreen.

They may not be aware of Waitlist. Let them know that a waitlist is in place. You won't lose your position, and the system will notify you when the next stall is available.

Check the Tesla app as your mobile device might have better Wi-Fi connection. If this issue occurs in your vehicle, safely switching your vehicle from ‘Park’ to ‘Drive’ mode may solve the issue.

There are likely drivers ahead of you in the queue whose turn is coming up. Wait for a notification telling you it’s your turn to Supercharge.

Waitlist is only available at select Supercharging sites. To use Waitlist, you must have Tesla app version 4.56.5 or later with the ‘Always’ and ‘Precise’ location permissions granted. To see Waitlist on your vehicle’s touchscreen, you must have Tesla vehicle software version 2026.14 or later.

Waitlist notifications only show when a site is near or at capacity.

Yes. Your status syncs between your vehicle and the Tesla app.

If you leave the site, you'll receive a notification asking if you want to stay on the waitlist. If you miss your turn to Supercharge twice, you will be automatically removed from the waitlist. You can rejoin the waitlist at any time.

No. Waitlist is for immediate Supercharging. If you're not ready to Supercharge when it's your turn, leave the waitlist and rejoin the queue when you’re ready.

If you miss your turn, you are moved down in the queue and the open spot will go to the driver behind you. If you miss your turn a second time, you will be removed from the waitlist. You can rejoin the waitlist at any time.

Yes. Other EV drivers can join a waitlist using the Tesla app. When it’s your turn to Supercharge, follow these steps:

1. Drive to an available Supercharger stall.
2. In the Tesla app, select ‘Charge Now.’
3. Select your stall number.
4. Tap ‘Charge Here.’

Yes. You need the Tesla app and a Tesla Account to use Waitlist and charge at Tesla Superchargers.

Location services verify you are physically at the Supercharging site and enable accurate notifications.

You can download the latest version of the Tesla app from the App Store or Google Play.

You have three minutes to plug in and start Supercharging your vehicle once you receive the notification that it’s your turn. You can tap the ‘Add 30 Seconds’ button to extend your time if needed.
