Making Payments for Your Vehicle

Your monthly installment payments with Tesla Finance LLC for your vehicle financing can be made conveniently in the Tesla app. You can also enroll in paperless billing, make payments and manage your billing information. If your financing with one of Tesla’s indirect partners, the payment must be made to the lender from your Retail Installment Contract.

Your monthly payment is based on the terms of your vehicle installment contract. You can find your vehicle installment contract in the ‘Documents’ section of the Tesla app.

Set up automatic payments, make one-time payments and enroll in paperless billing from the Tesla app. Check payments via bill pay or personal checks are not accepted.

Set Up Autopay and Paperless Billing

To manage your autopay settings or enroll in paperless billing from the Tesla app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Financing.’
3. Tap ‘Payments.’
4. Tap ‘Preferences.’
5. Toggle to enable or disable autopay or paperless billing.

Make a One-Time Payment

To make a one-time payment from the Tesla app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Financing.’
3. Tap ‘Make a One-Time Payment.’

You have the option to pay off your retail installment contract early. Your payoff amount will be good for 10 days from the date of request. The payoff will include the principal balance and any finance charges incurred (minimum of $75) through the date of request.

To pay off your retail installment contract early from the Tesla app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Financing.’
3. Tap ‘Loan Details.’
4. Tap ‘Manage Loans.’
5. Select ‘Early Payoff.’

Note: To access this feature in the Tesla app, make sure you have the latest version of the Tesla app.

There are no prepayment penalties associated with Tesla Financing. You may make a payment towards the outstanding principal at any time. Any amounts paid in excess of your current amount due will be applied to the principal balance. Any amounts applied directly to your principal will shorten your term length; however, your monthly payment amounts will stay the same.

To make a payment towards your principal balance from the Tesla app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Financing.’
3. Tap ‘Payment Options.’
4. Select ‘Principal Payment.’

Note: To access this feature in the Tesla app, make sure you have the latest version of the Tesla app. If you have an overdue payment, you will not see this option until the overdue payment is settled.

2. Tap ‘Financing.’
3. Tap ‘Payments.’
