Cybertruck Sail Applique Rework
Tesla has issued a voluntary recall on model year 2024 Cybertruck vehicles to replace or rework the sail applique such that the assembly meets specifications and ensures sufficient adhesion between the applique and vehicle’s deck rail.

This recall includes all model year 2024 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023 to May 26, 2024. All owners can check if their vehicle is affected by entering their VIN in either the Tesla VIN Recall Search or NHTSA VIN Recall search tools.
What is this issue and how does it affect my vehicle?
On affected vehicles, the sail applique or adhesive may not have been installed according to specification, which may cause the sail applique to become loose or separate from the vehicle.
Is my vehicle safe to drive?
If the applique separates from the vehicle while in drive, it could create a road hazard for following motorists and increase their risk of injury or a collision.
What is the recall remedy and how long does it take to perform?
At no charge to the customer, Tesla will rework or replace the sail applique such that the assembly meets specifications and ensures sufficient adhesion between the applique and the vehicle’s deck rail. Rework of sail applique will take less than 25 minutes and, if necessary, replacement will take approximately 30 minutes.
Do I need to make a service appointment for this recall?
No immediate action is required if you own a Cybertuck affected by this recall, and you may continue to drive your vehicle. Tesla will contact you to schedule a service appointment when parts become available in your region to rework or replace the sail applique free of charge.
