Cybertruck Wiper Motor Replacement

Tesla has issued a voluntary recall on model year 2024 Cybertruck vehicles to replace the windshield wiper motor with a wiper motor that has a properly functioning gate driver component.

This recall includes all model year 2024 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured from November 13, 2023 to June 6, 2024. All owners can check if their vehicle is affected by entering their VIN in either the Tesla VIN Recall Search or NHTSA VIN Recall search tools.

On affected vehicles, the front windshield wiper motor controller may stop functioning due to electrical overstress to the gate driver component.

A non-functioning windshield wiper may reduce visibility in certain operating conditions, which may increase the risk of a collision.

What is the recall remedy and how long does it take to perform?

At no charge to the customer, Tesla will replace the windshield wiper motor with a wiper motor that has a properly functioning gate driver component. Replacement of the wiper motor will take approximately 30 minutes.

No immediate action is required if you own a Cybertuck affected by this recall, and you may continue to drive your vehicle. Tesla will contact you to schedule a service appointment when parts become available in your region to replace the wiper motor free of charge.
