2026 Free Supercharging Competition

In January 2027, Tesla will celebrate nine outstanding Supercharger users from 2026 by awarding them free Supercharging for their Tesla vehicle for as long as they own it.

How It Works

Winners are determined by their use of the Supercharger network throughout the 2026 calendar year. Three winners will be selected in each of three regions, for a total of nine winners worldwide.

Categories

For this competition, each of the three regions will have one winner in the following categories:

  • Longest Trip: The longest continuous streak of unique Supercharger locations in 2026, where each new site is visited within 24 hours of the previous session's start time
  • Most Unique Supercharger Sites Visited: The highest number of unique Supercharger sites visited in 2026
  • Most Energy Supercharged: The highest total energy charged in kWh at Superchargers in 2026

A unique Supercharger site is a distinct location as displayed in the Tesla app or your vehicle's navigation.

A trip is a streak of visits to unique Supercharger sites. To extend your trip, you must begin a charging session at a new unique Supercharger location within 24 hours of the end of your previous session at a different site. Repeat visits to a previously counted site are allowed during a trip, but they do not reset the 24-hour timer or add to your trip’s length.

Regions

Your region is determined by where you charge. You are assigned to the region where you visited the most unique Supercharger sites during the competition period. If tied between two or more regions, you will be assigned to the region where you charged the most total energy in kWh. Your region assignment will be determined after the competition period ends on December 31, 2026, based on your charging activity during the year.

You compete against other participants in your region only. Supercharging sessions at any Supercharger worldwide count toward your stats, regardless of which region the charger is in.

The regions for this competition are:

  • Americas: Countries with Superchargers in North and South America
  • Asia-Pacific: Countries with Superchargers in Asia-Pacific and Oceania excluding China, which runs its own independent competition
  • EMEA: Countries with Superchargers in Europe, Middle East and Africa excluding Italy, Portugal, Greece, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Romania, Poland, Iceland, Estonia and Qatar due to local laws and regulations

Who Is Not Eligible

Certain vehicles and people are not eligible for this contest, including:

  • Vehicles that already have free Supercharging
  • Vehicles used for commercial purposes such as taxi, rideshare or delivery services
  • Residents of countries not included in a competition region
  • Employees of Tesla, Inc. and their immediate family

How to Participate

Enrollment opens in December 2026 when the 2026 Passport feature launches in the Tesla app. We’re announcing the competition in June 2026 so you can get a head start. Every Supercharger session since January 1, 2026 is already being counted toward your yearly totals.

To participate when the 2026 Passport goes live, follow these steps:

  1. Download the latest version of the Tesla app.
  2. Enable the 'Share Charging Data with Tesla App' toggle in your vehicle settings.
  3. Open the 2026 Passport section in the Tesla app to enroll before January 1, 2027.

No purchase or payment beyond normal charging is required to participate in the competition.

Note: The competition period covers all charging sessions from 00:01 local time on January 1, 2026 through 23:59 local time on December 31, 2026. This means charging sessions that occurred before this competition was announced in June 2026 are included.

How Winners are Selected

Your competition stats are based on the values from the last time you opened the 2026 Passport before January 1, 2027. To be eligible, you must open the 2026 Passport in the Tesla app at least once before January 1, 2027. Be sure to check back after your last Supercharger session of 2026 to make sure all your sessions are counted.

Winners will be awarded in the following order for each of the three regions:

  • One Longest Trip winner per region
  • One Most Unique Supercharger Sites Visited winner per region
  • One Most Energy Supercharged winner per region

Once a winner receives free Supercharging in one category, they are not eligible for the remaining categories and the prize will go to the next qualifying participant.

If two participants are tied in any category, the participant with the most total energy charged at Superchargers will be selected.

Winners will be notified by email in January 2027, and free Supercharging will be applied to the winning vehicle before March 1, 2027. Tesla will announce when winners have been selected on the @TeslaCharging account on X. Winners may be invited to be featured on Tesla’s social media channels with their consent.

Who Can Use Free Supercharging

If you are one of the nine winners of the 2026 Free Supercharging Competition, your free Supercharging is tied to your Tesla Account and the winning vehicle. Free Supercharging cannot be transferred to another vehicle, person or order, even in the case of ownership transfer. If you sell your vehicle or your lease ends, your free Supercharging will be revoked.

Free Supercharging credits can only be used at Supercharger sites owned by Tesla. Free Supercharging credits cannot be used at Supercharger sites not owned by Tesla. Supercharging-related fees still apply.

Vehicles used for commercial purposes such as taxi, rideshare or delivery services are not eligible for free Supercharging.

Tesla reserves the right in its sole discretion to remove free Supercharging from your vehicle, including in cases of misuse or abuse.
