Tesla Windshield Protection Plan

The Windshield Protection Plan is offered as a monthly subscription in the Tesla app.

To subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Service Plans’ > ‘Windshield Protection.’
3. Review the price and coverage terms of the Windshield Protection Plan.
4. Tap ‘Subscribe.’
5. Review and confirm your payment information.

If you purchase a new or pre-owned Tesla vehicle, you are eligible to subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan within 30 days after taking delivery of your vehicle. If you missed the 30-day period to subscribe, explore additional options to be eligible for the Windshield Protection Plan.

Once you have taken delivery of your new or pre-owned vehicle, confirm your eligibility by following these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Service Plans’ > ‘Windshield Protection.’
3. If you are eligible, you will see an option to subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan.

Note: If you do not see the option available, your vehicle may not be eligible for the Windshield Protection Plan without an inspection. Additionally, only the registered vehicle owner can subscribe to upgrades in the Tesla app.

Currently, the Windshield Protection Plan subscription is available for new or pre-owned Model S, Model 3, Model X or Model Y vehicles, and new Cybertruck vehicles.

Alternatively, model year 2026 Model S and Model X vehicles ordered on or after August 15, 2025 will receive the Luxe Package, which includes coverage of the Windshield Protection Plan. New Cyberbeast vehicles ordered between August 21, 2025 and February 19, 2026 will have received the Luxe Package. Coverage lasts for four years and includes front windshield replacements and unlimited repairs for chips and cracks. Your first replacement comes with no deductible. If another replacement is needed within the 12-month period, a $100 deductible will be applied. Learn more about the Luxe Package.

Yes. You can subscribe by scheduling and completing a complimentary inspection at a Tesla Service Center or, if a replacement is needed, by having your vehicle’s front windshield replaced by Tesla. Your vehicle’s front windshield must be made from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) material.

You can schedule the inspection in the Tesla app by following these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Service’ > ’Request Service’ > ’Upgrades & Accessories’ > ‘Windshield Protection Plan.’
3. Select your preferred Tesla Service Center and time for your appointment.

If your vehicle passes the inspection by meeting all the criteria, you will be able to subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan for up to seven days after the service appointment. Within 24 hours after completing your inspection, you will receive a notification to subscribe in the Tesla app.

Alternatively, if you need your vehicle’s front windshield replaced, schedule a service appointment from the Tesla app to have it replaced by Tesla and you’ll be able to subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan for up to seven days after the replacement.

Your vehicle’s front windshield must meet the criteria as outlined below:

• Made from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) material
• No evidence of sustained previous damage, including but not limited to chips, cracks and pitting, regardless of if it was repaired

Before scheduling your inspection, check if your vehicle’s front windshield has any existing damage. If damage is found, schedule a service appointment to have it replaced by Tesla. Once the windshield is replaced, you will be eligible to subscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan.

Note: Any tint or film that is installed on the windshield will not cause the inspection to fail. However, Tesla requires the tint to be removed prior to the inspection and will not cover replacement or reinstallation.

The Windshield Protection Plan does not cover damage to your vehicle’s front windshield caused by:

• Tint, stickers, decals or the replacement of such items
• Events occurring prior to effective date of subscription
• Vandalism
• Cosmetic damages
• Collision
• Commercial use, including carriage of passengers for hire
• Racing or off-road driving
• Force majeure events, including but not limited to earthquakes, fire, hurricanes, flood or lightning
• Negligence, misuse, abuse or towing

Currently, the Windshield Protection Plan is only available in the U.S. The Windshield Protection Plan will become available for other regions in the future.

To update the payment method for your Windshield Protection Plan, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Manage’ > ‘Windshield Protection.’
3. Select the desired payment method from the dropdown.

Payment methods changed through Tesla Account by going to ‘Settings’ > ‘Payments’ do not automatically change payment on active vehicle subscription.

To download and view your subscription invoices, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Manage’ > ‘Windshield Protection.’
3. The invoices will be located at the bottom of the screen.

You can also download subscription invoices from your Tesla Account by going to ‘Manage Car’ > ‘Documents.’

Your first payment will be made upon subscribing to the Windshield Protection Plan. You will then be charged monthly until the subscription is canceled. To see when your next payment is due, follow these steps in the Tesla app:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Manage.’
3. Find the next payment date under ‘Windshield Protection.’

Yes. You can cancel your Windshield Protection Plan at any time in the Tesla app. Once you cancel, your coverage will end after the current billing cycle ends.

To cancel your subscription, follow these steps:

1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Tap ‘Upgrades’ > ‘Manage’ > ‘Windshield Protection’ > ‘Cancel Plan.’
3. Confirm the end date of your coverage and complete the cancelation request.

If you cancel your Windshield Protection Plan, you will have until the end of that same billing cycle to resubscribe. Once you make your last payment and the billing cycle ends, your coverage will expire.

If your coverage has expired, you can resubscribe by completing a complimentary inspection at a Tesla Service Center or, if a replacement is needed, by having your vehicle’s front windshield replaced by Tesla. Your vehicle’s front windshield must be made from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) material.

If you would like to complete a complimentary inspection, schedule a service appointment from the Tesla app. If your vehicle passes the inspection and meets all the criteria, you will be able to resubscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan.

If you need your vehicle’s front windshield replaced, schedule a service appointment from the Tesla app to have it replaced by Tesla and you’ll be able to resubscribe to the Windshield Protection Plan for up to seven days after the replacement.

No. If you cancel your subscription, you will make your last payment and continue to have coverage until the end of that same billing cycle. Additional information on canceling your subscription can be found in the ‘Cancelation and Termination’ section of your WPP Terms and Conditions.

Yes. Once you sell your Tesla vehicle, you can initiate a vehicle ownership transfer with Tesla, allowing the new owner to resume the remainder of your coverage. The new owner will receive notice of the option to continue the subscription. Once the ownership transfer is completed, you will not be charged for the subscription after your last payment.
