The Role

As a Systems Software Engineer within the Autopilot Computer Vision group, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical skills on the development of the Computer Vision software pipeline. You will work together with vision and machine learning scientists on productizing the Vision stack, improving its performance and robustness on a range of embedded platforms. You will write tests and integrate with our simulation pipeline, to ensure the system and functional stability of our stack.


Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug and maintain C/C++ software to support the camera and computer vision stack 

  • Improve the overall vision stack performance, leverage hardware capabilities, and reduce resources consumption 

  • Apply your Software Architecture skills to design consistent C/C++ API’s, write code running on CPU and/or GPU, and advocate for best coding practices amongst the group 

  • Work on the Camera software pipeline running on the target product platform to deliver high resolution images at high framerate to a range of consuming devices (CPU, GPU, hardware compressors and image processors) 

  • Partner with the vision & machine learning scientists, understand their requirements and translate them into robust, performant software pipelines   


Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing C/C++ software, including modern C/C++ (C++11/14) and multithreading 

  • Experience or familiarity with Computer Vision & related software concepts 

  • Strong software architecture skills, strong experience with object-oriented software and API’s in C/C++ 

  • Proficient developing software on a Linux host, for embedded Linux targets (cross-compilation, etc.) 

  • Understanding of modern GPU architectures for parallel computing 

  • Experience with at least one of the following: imaging software, Cuda/OpenCL, SIMD, multithreading, computer vision
