If your Model S, Model X, Model 3 or Model Y is still covered by its Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty for new vehicles, you may be eligible to purchase an Extended Service Agreement (ESA) to extend certain coverage by up to 2 years or 40,000 kilometers, whichever occurs first.

Extended Service Agreements cover the repair or replacement necessary to correct the mechanical breakdown or inability to perform the function(s) for which it was designed of most parts manufactured or supplied by Tesla during the coverage period under normal use. Coverage is based upon the purchased agreement option and takes effect on the date that your original New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires.
There are specific items that are not covered by the Extended Service Agreement (ESA) including, but not limited to: consumable and maintenance parts (e.g., filters, liquids, batteries, brake pads), suspension alignment, appearance care (cleaning and polishing), shock absorbers, upholstery wear and tear, wheels, tires and components that have their own separate warranty, such as the high voltage battery and drive unit. For a complete list, refer to the ‘Exclusions’ section of your Extended Service Agreement Terms and Conditions.
If you have purchased your Extended Service Agreement from the Tesla app, find your Extended Service Agreement by following these steps:
1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the Tesla app home screen and select ‘Spec & Warranty.’
3. Tap the ‘Warranty’ tab to view your ESA.
If you have purchased your Extended Service Agreement from a Tesla Service Center, refer to the Extended Service Agreement you received at the time of purchase. If you are unable to locate your Extended Service Agreement you purchased at a Tesla Service Center, you can reach out to your nearest Tesla Service Center.

The Extended Service Agreement is available for the following vehicles that are still covered by the Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty:
- Model S
- Model X
- Model 3
- Model Y
Your vehicle is no longer eligible for the Extended Service Agreement once the Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty expires.

The Extended Service Agreement can be purchased in the Tesla app. To purchase an Extended Service Agreement, follow these steps:
1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Select your vehicle.
3. Tap ‘Upgrades.’
4. Select ‘Extended Service Agreement.’
5. Review the Extended Service Agreement price and coverage terms.
6. Tap ‘Add’ next to Extended Service Agreement.
7. Follow the prompt to complete your purchase.

Extending, Transferring or Canceling Coverage

Yes. You can request for a refund in the Tesla app if your Extended Service Agreement has not yet started. If you are planning to sell your vehicle but want to cancel your Extended Service Agreement, you must complete the cancelation process before transferring the vehicle to its new owner through Tesla.

If your Extended Service Agreement coverage has not yet started, cancel your Extended Service Agreement by following these steps:
1. Open the Tesla app.
2. Select your vehicle.
3. Tap ‘Upgrades.’
4. Tap ‘Manage Upgrades.’
5. Select ‘Extended Service Agreement.’
6. Tap ‘Request Refund.’
7. Follow the prompt to complete your cancelation.
If your Extended Service Agreement coverage has started, you may request to cancel your Extended Service agreement by completing the Extended Service Agreement Cancelation Form (wet signature required) and submitting the completed form to your nearest Tesla Service Center. The amount refunded will be pro-rated based on a few factors including claim history and remaining term balance. Refer to the ‘Cancelation’ section of your Extended Service Agreement Terms and Condition for additional information and the ‘Appendix’ of the Extended Service Agreement Cancelation Form.
