Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Discount

Tesla Insurance offers a discount to Tesla owners who have purchased or are subscribed to Full Self-Driving (Supervised). The more you drive with FSD (Supervised) enabled, the bigger the discount is on your insurance premium.

Throughout the month, Tesla Insurance will collect the following data from your vehicle:

Total miles driven
Total miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled

Tesla Insurance will then calculate your next monthly premium based on the percentage of miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled.

The percentage of miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled is calculated by dividing the total miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled by the total miles driven, over the last 30-day period. Your discount may vary depending on the percentage of total miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled.

Eligible customers who drive with FSD (Supervised) enabled will receive a discount. The more you drive with FSD (Supervised) enabled, the bigger the discount is on your insurance premium for certain coverages on your Tesla Insurance policy. You can earn up to a maximum discount of 10% on these coverages when you drive 50% or more of your miles with FSD (Supervised) enabled over the last 30-day period.

To be eligible for the FSD (Supervised) discount, you must:

Be a Tesla Insurance customer in a state where the FSD (Supervised) discount is offered

Have either purchased FSD (Supervised) or have subscribed to FSD (Supervised) at the time that your next monthly premium is calculated

Have driven at least five miles during the 30-day period, with at least 1% of the total miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled

Once the FSD (Supervised) discount becomes available in your state, eligible customers will start to receive the FSD (Supervised) discount on their next policy renewal date. You can determine when your next policy renewal will occur by reviewing your policy documents. If you are a new policyholder, you will receive the discount on the third month of your new policy.

When available for your Tesla vehicle, you will see ‘Safety Score’ on the home screen of the Tesla app. You can find detailed information including the total number of miles you have driven and the total number of miles driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled for each trip, day and 30-day period.
To see if you have received the FSD (Supervised) discount, follow these steps:

Open the Tesla app.

Tap ‘Safety Score.’

View your estimated premium, with the FSD (Supervised) discount applied, for the following month.

Additionally, if you are receiving the discount, tap the info icon to see the percentage of miles that were driven with FSD (Supervised) enabled.
The FSD (Supervised) discount only applies to certain eligible coverages on your insurance policy and not to your total insurance policy premium. If you have some of these ineligible coverages such as comprehensive, UMBI or UMPD on your policy, the overall discount on your total premium may be less than 10%.

You can purchase FSD (Supervised) at any time through the Tesla app or when you design your new Tesla vehicle. You can also subscribe to FSD (Supervised) through the Tesla app or from your vehicle’s touchscreen.
