Update Vehicle Firmware to Correct Front Parking Lamp Intensity
Tesla has issued a voluntary noncompliance recall on certain model year 2024, 2025 and 2026 Cybertruck vehicles manufactured between November 13, 2023, and October 11, 2025, that were operating a software release that was prior to 2025.38.3, for noncompliance of the front parking lamp function output value, which exceeds the FMVSS permissible value.
What is this issue?
On affected vehicles, the vehicle controller software may inadvertently command the front parking lamp photometry intensity to exceed the maximum permissible intensity prescribed in FMVSS 108.
Is my vehicle affected by this recall?
All owners can check if their vehicle is affected by using either the Tesla VIN Recall Search or the NHTSA VIN Recall Search tools.
Is my vehicle safe to drive?
Parking lamps that exceed the maximum permissible photometry intensity may be distracting to other drivers and increase the risk of a collision.
Tesla is not aware of any crashes, injuries or deaths related to the condition.
What is the recall remedy?
At no cost to customers, affected vehicles received an over-the-air software remedy with software release 2025.38.3. Software release 2025.38.3 or later corrects the parking lamp output to comply with FMVSS 108 photometry requirements. No service visit is necessary, and no further action is necessary from owners whose vehicles are equipped with software release 2025.38.3 or a later.
You can confirm your vehicle’s software version by tapping 'Controls' > 'Software’ on your vehicle’s touchscreen or at the bottom of your vehicle’s home screen in the Tesla app.
Do I need to make a service appointment for this recall?
No. This recall is addressed by updating the vehicle software to version 2025.38.3 or later and does not require the customer to schedule a service appointment.
What if my software update fails to download or install?
Software updates may fail for a number of reasons. If you are having issues updating your vehicle software, view frequently asked questions about software updates. If the issue persists, schedule a service appointment.
