Affirm
Affirm is a payment service offered on Tesla Shop that provides a variety of purchase payment options, enabling buy-now-pay-later financing plans to help customers pay for goods and services over time.
You need to be at least 18 years old to be an account owner and provide your full name, email address, date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number. Additionally, you must have a valid mobile number that accepts SMS messages.
After approving the service invoice in the Tesla app, select Affirm as your payment method at checkout.
The Affirm ‘Pay in 4’ option supports purchases up to $500; bi-weekly payments and different financing options support purchases up to $30,000, subject to credit approval. A down payment may be required. Estimation excludes potential tax and shipping costs. Monthly financing through Affirm is subject to credit approval. Visit Affirm’s website for additional information.
Before each payment is due, Affirm will send you an email or SMS reminder with the upcoming installment amount and the due date. You also have the option to set up autopay.
Yes. There are no penalties or fees for early payments. You will also save on any interest that hasn’t accrued yet.
You can’t change your due date. However, you can make automatic payments on a date of your choice if you turn on autopay.
If you’re going to be late with a payment, sign in to your Affirm account and schedule a payment as soon as possible. Affirm won’t charge late fees, but partial payments or late payments can hurt your credit score, affecting your chances of getting another loan with Affirm.
There are no late fees, prepayment fees, annual fees or fees to open or close an account.
Affirm offers payment plans with no interest as well as payment plans with interest for longer loan terms. Interest charges depend on the Affirm payment plan you choose and your personal qualifications.
The annual percentage rate (APR) on an affirm loan ranges from 0-36% which is determined by Affirm in its sole discretion and applicants’ personal qualifications.
If you need to return part or all of your order, Affirm will issue you with a new statement that reflects an updated balance.
Once you have followed the steps to return your Tesla Shop order, Affirm will update your account with the cancelation or loan refund, as appropriate. This can take between three to 10 days after we have received your return. You can begin a return through your Tesla Account’s Order History. If you checked out as a guest, you can begin your return in the View or Manage Order section.
Affirm will process your refund based on the following:
Partial Refund: If you return part of your order, your refund amount is first applied to any remaining payments. If your refund amount is more than your remaining payments, you’ll be refunded the difference.
Full Refund: If you return your entire order for a full refund, Affirm will refund you for any completed payments and any remaining payments will be canceled.
Once you have returned the item back to Tesla, the refund will be processed within three to 10 days. If the order is resolved with a replacement, your payment statement will continue.
