The eligibility period of three months free electricity offer with Tesla Electric ended October 2, 2025.

Texas customers in eligible territories who buy a Powerwall directly from Tesla between June 1, 2025 and October 1, 2025 may qualify for three months of free electricity when they sign up with Tesla Electric to be their retail electricity provider. Qualifying customers will receive bill credits against their home energy consumption and EV charging usage throughout the three-month offer period.¹

Eligibility

To be eligible for this offer, you must:

Order your Powerwall directly from Tesla between June 1 and October 1, 2025
Cooperate with Tesla to complete system installation no later than December 1, 2025 to enable timely application to your local utility for permission to operate (PTO) your Powerwall or Solar plus Powerwall system
Switch electricity providers to Tesla Electric and enroll in the Tesla Electric Fixed or Dynamic plan by December 31, 2025
Live at a utility service address that has retail choice in Texas
Install Powerwall by Tesla at the same address as your Tesla Account for Tesla Electric

Note: Existing Tesla Electric customers are not eligible for this offer. Customers that purchase Powerwalls from any party other than Tesla, including certified installers or other third parties, are not eligible for this offer.

Note: For new Powerwall owners, you will need permission to operate (PTO) from your local utility before your Powerwall can be configured to export energy to the grid. Once PTO is received and your local utility has reprogrammed your electric meter to report energy exports to your electricity provider, you will receive the credits for supporting the grid.

Tesla Electric offers electricity plans designed for households to save on electricity bills. When you sign up with Tesla Electric, Tesla will supply your home with sustainable electricity.
No. With this offer, there are no additional transmission or distribution fees during the offer period. Once the three-month period ends, TDSP charges will be passed through for all energy you use from the grid in accordance with the terms of the retail plan that you chose.
You will continue to receive your normal bill during the three-month period. Within seven days of your bill being issued by Tesla Electric, your 'Total Amount Due' or 'Scheduled Autopay Amount' will update to $0. If you are eligible for the virtual power plant or sellback credits as part of your plan, these sellback credits will be applied to your bill before the balance is zeroed out.
Many providers offer plans that may include free nights. There may be hidden fees in these plans and they can charge high rates during daytime hours. With this offer, you can receive three months of free energy on your bill and then competitive rates for your energy costs after the three month offer period ends. Additionally, you can receive credits for exporting your excess power and monthly bill credits for participating in the Tesla Virtual Power Plant.

Before you get started with the sign-up process, you will be prompted to enter your address or ESI-ID. This will determine your eligibility for Tesla Electric.
Yes. You can own Tesla vehicles for the offer. You are eligible if you purchase Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion directly from Tesla between June 1, 2025 and October 1, 2025.

Once you receive permission to operate from your local utility, sign up for Tesla Electric to receive three months of free electricity.
After the three months, you’ll continue service with Tesla Electric with all the benefits listed above. If you have accumulated bill credits during the three months, they will be available to you to offset your future Tesla Electric bills.
