About a month and a half before your vehicle enters production you will be assigned a vehicle identification number (VIN). This number is often required to secure 3rd party financing or set up insurance.

Your current estimated delivery time frames can be found in your Tesla Account. Because a number of factors may impact timing – including shifting production schedules, option availability, and the logistics of transporting your vehicle – it's not uncommon to observe changes to this initial time frame.

Tesla lending is available for three to eight year terms. In addition to exceptional rates, Tesla guarantees the resale value of your Model S to be similar to or greater than other cars in its class. After three years, you can turn in your Model S for 47% of the original base price plus 40% of options.

In most cases, Tesla will register Model S on your behalf with your province's department of motor vehicles. Sales tax and registration fees will be collected as part of final payment. In some cases, your Model S will be considered an out-of-province purchase. Your Delivery Experience Specialist will let you know if this applies to you and provide you with the necessary paperwork to self register Model S. A temporary tag will be issued making your Model S legal to drive as soon as you take delivery.

If you wish to register your Model S to your business or trust, please update your registration preferences in your Tesla Account. We’ll make sure your registration paperwork reflects your choice. If you plan to finance your Model S, your registration must match your finance paperwork.
