Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Referral Program

Refer a Tesla owner to try Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and earn rewards. By sharing FSD (Supervised), you may be eligible to earn one month of free FSD (Supervised) or a $99 Tesla Credit.

Note: To access this referral program, you must have Tesla app version 4.62.0 or later. Make sure you have the latest version of the app by updating the Tesla app on your mobile device.

How it Works

Eligibility

To refer someone, you must be currently subscribed to FSD (Supervised) or have purchased FSD (Supervised) outright.

Note: If you have FSD (Supervised) through a one-year grant, you are ineligible to refer someone or receive a referral link.

Referrer Benefits

Sharing your referrer link grants eligible customers a one-month FSD (Supervised) trial. Referrer benefits are earned when your referral recipient subscribes to FSD (Supervised) during their trial. Your referrer benefit will depend on your FSD (Supervised) ownership status as outlined below:

How to Earn Benefits

Share your referral link with fellow Tesla owners and receive referrer benefits when they subscribe to FSD (Supervised) during their one-month trial.

To earn referrer benefits, follow these steps:

Open the Tesla app.
Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
Select ‘Refer and Earn.’
Find the FSD (Supervised) section and tap ‘Share Your Link.’
From your list of contacts, select the person you’d like to refer and send the referral message.

After your invitee receives the link, they will have access to one free month of FSD (Supervised), if eligible. If they subscribe to FSD (Supervised) during the trial, you will earn your referrer benefit.

Note: Your referrer benefit will appear as ‘pending’ in the Tesla app until the Grant Date. Each referrer benefit expires 12 months after the Grant Date.

To be eligible to be referred by someone, you must:
- Own a registered Tesla vehicle
- Have not paid for an FSD (Supervised) subscription in the past 12 months
- Have not purchased FSD (Supervised) outright
- Be eligible to subscribe to FSD (Supervised) with compatible hardware
Note: If you received a FSD (Supervised) trial after taking delivery of a new Tesla vehicle, you are ineligible to receive a referral link for at least 12 months after your trial is complete.
Referrals for an FSD (Supervised) trial can only be accepted in the Tesla app. If your referral link isn’t opening, follow these steps:
1. Open the message, text or email with the referral link.
2. Touch and hold the link.
3. Tap ‘Open in Tesla.’
If you do not see ‘Open in Tesla,’ make sure you have the latest version of the Tesla app installed. If so, you may need to delete and reinstall the app, then sign in to the account associated with your vehicle and try the link again.
Tesla Credits¹ can be used as payment toward the following:
- Supercharging
- A new vehicle purchase
- A new energy product purchase
- Any outstanding balance from a service appointment in the Tesla app
- Tesla Shop purchase
- Tesla Insurance payments
- Upgrades, including subscriptions
To use your Tesla Credits, select ‘Tesla Credits’ as your payment method when making your purchase. You can use Tesla Credits for the full purchase amount or combine with another payment method.
Note: Tesla Credits cannot be used to make payments for the Extended Service Agreement subscription. For energy product purchases, Tesla Credits can only be used when the qualifying product is installed by Tesla. To use your Tesla Credits to pay for an outstanding balance from Supercharging or subscriptions, you must pay the entire cost of your purchase with Tesla Credits.
Tesla Credits earned through the Refer and Earn program expire 12 months after the Grant Date. You can find this expiration date in the Tesla app by following these steps:
- Open the Tesla app.
- Tap the top-right menu.
- Tap your name > ‘Wallet.’
- You will find a card named ‘Tesla Credits’ with an expiration date.
We will also send you an email notification 30 days before any of your Tesla Credits are set to expire.
