Tesla Energy Plan Frequently Asked Questions
Note: The Tesla Energy Plan ends on 30 September 2025.
-
The plan will end on 30 September 2025. Customers are being notified 20-40 business days in advance.
-
Your Powerwall will be removed from the Tesla Virtual Power Plant on or after 30 September 2025, depending on market system processes. Once it’s removed, you’ll have full control of its setting in the Tesla app.
As a Tesla Energy Plan customer, the program closure does not affect your statutory rights.
-
Customers who were eligible for the Tesla Energy Plan Extended Warranty will continue to receive this benefit after 30 September 2025.
When you make an extended warranty claim in the future, we’ll need you to provide the following documentation to validate your eligibility:
- Proof of your Powerwall installation date (e.g. commissioning document or installation invoice)
- Evidence of your Tesla Energy Plan enrolment (e.g. TEP bill or welcome letter)
Once we receive this information with your claim, our team will be able to review it and confirm your warranty coverage.
-
Energy Locals will handle all billing, account management and plan changes throughout this transition period. You can contact them on:
