Payment to Reduce Term

You may reduce the length of your loan by paying down the principal balance. Remitting principal balance does not include the current balance.

Partial Principal Payments

Partial principal payment is an optional payment based on the estimated amount of the federal investment tax credit that may be available for your solar energy installation, representing 30% of the eligible system cost. You may qualify for reduced future monthly payments if you remit a payment towards your principal balance equivalent to the full federal tax credit amount. Payment must be remitted by the agreed upon date as listed in your contract.

Note: Only applicable to eligible customers. To check eligibility, refer to your Retail Installment Contract.

Finance Payoff

There are no prepayment penalties associated with Tesla Financing. You may prepay all or part of the unpaid part of the amount financed at any time. As of the date of your payment, if the minimum finance charge ($25 to $75, based on the original amount financed) is greater than the earned finance charge, you may be charged the difference.

If a Tesla customer sells their home, the Solar Agreement may be transferred to the new owner; however, the financing associated is not transferable. Our Customer Support team can assist in providing you with any documentation required to include the finance payoff in the sale of the home.
